Lights That Change - Beautiful Soul

Single review by wayoutwest@thesoundofconfusion.com

Not long ago we introduced you to a lovely Wales-based band called Lights That Change, comprised of Lisa Von H on vocals and producer Marc Joy. Hailing from Mold, Flintshire, this duo has released a new song through Ear to Ear Records, a nicely growing indie music label also based in northern Wales. The duo have followed up their name-your-price debut self-titled EP, released in July, with a new single called 'Beautiful Soul', available from the label's website, as well as the duo's own Bandcamp and all major digital music platforms.

Just as their previous release, Lights That Change once again deliver outstanding showmanship and seductive melody, reminiscent of Cocteau Twins and Jane Siberry (reaching back to the 1980s with that reference, for those that recall Siberry's music before 'The Crow' hit the box office). Just this week, they have also decided to present their listeners with yet another "feel-good" track, just in time for the holiday season - 'Beautiful Soul Unplugged'.

It's no wonder that the band has been enjoying steady airplay on BBC Wales for the past half year and, rather recently, has made it into Tom Robinson's picks for Freshnet. We say: expect more goodness from this dynamic duo in 2014.
